Trip to Alberta-Report(pictures)

Hey all,

Haven't posted here too much as of late but I'm still fishing hard as always. I've been doing much more trout fishing as of late with a few smallie outings. As some know I am working at Greendrake so if you see me be sure to say hello!

Just got all the photos uploaded after coming back from Alberta two weeks ago. We had beautiful weather, great fishing and an amazing time, I cannot wait to return. Gotta love wild trout! There's no comparison IMO.

Although the hatches were sparse we still had success on hopper imitations and humpys. The best technique was to drop two nymphs underneath the dry or fishing a czech nymph rig. The rocky mountain whitefish drove us CRAZY although they were quite large on average, they weren't trout. Here are a few of the pics I got...wish I got more pictures as always.

sweet. good to see you got into some action. the bow is a really tough river to fish for the first few times. were you on a guided trip out there? i love fishing the alberta rockies. I've had some of the best fishing of my life out there.

next time you're heading out there, shoot me a pm and i can send you to a few nice spots on the bow, crow, or any of the mountain streams. i could also recommend a couple of decent fishing guides if you needed one.

Nope, we were not with a guiding service, just my uncle and my friend John. It is a very intimidating river at first as there is so much water to cover. I really didnt like indicator nymphing though

it makes czech nymphing seem a lot more exciting than it is. I got my fish deaddrifting nymphs behind a heavy streamer, couldn't stand fishing with an indicator.
