Were you carded by the MNR yesterday?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Just curious about how many other Hawk talkers were carded by the MNR :?: We ran into the license check upon our arrival at Crappy Bay.

That was the first time ever for me in both Quebec and Ontario in over 25 years of fishing.Stopped once in Quinte last fall but they were just checking on how long we've been fishing and where we were from.No mention of licences.

Strange that this is my first season icefishing and I would be asked on my fifth time out.

We had a visit by the CO in the aft... fortunately he recognized me so he spared me the frantic search for the wallet. His portly OPP friend (dressed incognito no less carrying auger and bait bucket) also made some folks dump at least a couple hundred bucks worth of alcohol into the snow as well. My heart sank as I saw one participant pour 18 coldies out onto the ice. Beats the $125 fine I guess but I think the cop coulda handled it a lot differently... C'est la vie I guess...

Just missed both of them but a buddy was in the hut drinking; he said they must've knew because you could smell it but they never said anything to him.

Cheers,
