Unusual Objects Caught while Fishing

Last spring while fishing on the Ottawa behind the French Embassy dragging a bottom bouncer and worm harness I felt something set the hook and proceeded to pull up an OLD pair of pantyhose. Must have some wild parties at that embassy. Moved down river about 50 feet and still dragging a bottom bouncer felt something heavy set the hook since hook sets are free and pulled up a black onepiece female bathing suit. Isaid to my fishing buddy Glenn lets get out of here, the next thing I'll probably pull up will be a dead body. We left this area rather smartly.
Must be some good shindigs in these residences. I haven't tried behind the Prime Minister's Residence yet.

That would be a beauty to catch!

My weirdest only runs as far as another lure while I was (trying) to fish the edges of a weedbed. Lost all accuracy one cast and put it over the middle of this bed and reeled in franticly to keep my own rapala from snagging and low and behold I caught another rapala...that was also my best catch of the day too.

While jigging I managed to pull up a stringer full of bass and pickerel that were still alive. The truth can be stranger than fiction some days

Years ago shorefishing at Petrie Island I got snagged in a usual spot where we always swore there had to be chainlink fence or something submerged. Well low and behold my heavy test line hauled up a chunk of mossy square timber from the old days on the Ottawa River that must've had 20-30 lures of various types on it. Imagine my heart sink as I watched it come near and get caught in the current that flows thru the nearby culvert. Had to kiss it goodbye as my drag zinged and mono snapped as it whizzed away down the river.

I miss that Wally Diver. It was gold over black. Caught many a fish on that ol boy.

Guess it's an excuse to go shopping tomorrow.

Not me but my brother. About 30 years ago. Fished a $10 bill out of Constance Lake. Saw it on the bottom and put on a Red Devil and brought it in :!:

I wouldn't have belived it, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes :!:

I've hooked and landed 2 vinyl coated anchors - but have lost 4. I've snagged and landed 3 rod/reel combos - but none have been as good as the 2 I've lost overboard. The oldest combo was a solid fiberglass casting rod with cork handle and an Ambassadeur 5000. The outfit had been in the water so long that the reel was missing all of its red finish down to the base metal. I've replaced the cap screws and handle that were missing and it's now a working conversation piece

Well this one time I was out fishing for weeds and snags like usual, when all of the sudden I feel this weird tug at the end of my line. I pulled this weird object in and Sleded tells me it was a FISH. Man was I surprised!

Actually my weirdest catch is probably the bumper off an F-150. Somehow I pulled the whole thing up off bottom.. makes me wonder how much of the truck is under water!

I got a couple as well...

Walleye opener on the bay of quinte in 2003, was trolling for eyes (of course) and had a hit. After a 5 minute fight, brought in a Rod and reel combo. The rod and reel were worthless but had a nice Rapala Shad Rap on it.

A couple of weeks ago, Nighttroller set his rod in the rod holder on the ice. We were talking and then he had a hit but the fish drag the rod right down the hole. I grab my rod and started to jig in the hole. A couple minutes later I caught the rod and reel. Needless to say that was the only thing I caught that day.

Cheers,

Mike

Nope....White Lake. Wouldn't that have been a riot if the stringer belonged to a fellow Fish Hawker
