Not from Ottawa but don't they do a big thing on the canal, skating etc! Don't know if they have other winter festivals activities, but fish hawk has their derby on the 19th if you can squeeze another day!

:) It depends on your tastes M3... I really enjoyed the art gallery of all places. It's probably one of the best I've seen.

The Aviation museum was pretty cool, and the downtown market gives you a real flavour of the town.

Ottawa is a clean city with a lot of emphasis on being outdoors. At least that's what I like about it when I visit.

Winterlude for sure, lots of fun, and sights for the young and older

For shoppin, try Sparks St, (As per Salmon) the Parliment Buils are right there aswell.

And for dining, or a walk with a hot chocolate, the "Market" is awsome @ night aswell.

Everything you need is all within the Byward Market area. The shopping mall had a lot of neat stores in it last time the kids and I were in the area :D Everything is all within walking distance.

A few museums in the area. The airplane museum is a drive from Byward. Awesome place to see :D

Happy site seeing

I love Ottawa! Great city.

I agree with others that Byward Market is lots of fun to check out.

I don't know the event schedule for Winterlude yet, but if they have the ice sculptures, please take a stroll through the displays. You'll be amazed. They are fantastic!!

Have a great time. :D

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
