It was great to see so many people out on the Ice today. RJ, Topwater, Bradford, Jim W., Ransome, Saskie, Jason Billow, Bobber and others(sorry I didn't catch everyones names). The perch were on and off with everyone catching a few. There were so many small Northerns caught(10"-14") that I lost count. What a beautifull day to be on the ice and great to get to talk to so many Hawker's.
Thanks.
Going to go to either Quinte or The South Nation next weekend.
Take care
JP

A glorious day on the ice today.... :D

Met up with Topwater and Ransome at 730....drilled a bunch of holes with my new auger....For anyone looking or thinking of buying an auger....spend a few extra bucks and buy the Finn-Bore.....I could not beleive how easy it was to drill a hole....under a minute per!

We hit the perch hard for the first 2 hours.....we lost count at about 20 each.....they really tapered off after that.....seemed like once JP showed up they disappeared...   .....we just had to keep moving to keep on top of them....

Topwater caught the smallest Pike I have ever seen....

And it proved to be a slippery one!!!!....

For a day I thought I'd be fishing alone...it turned into a Hawk Talker get together....  Great seeing everyone!

JP, With this warm weather coming save your gas.....Quinte won't be an option....it barely is now....

Thanks for the info on Quinte, I guess I'll be trying the Nation then.

Hi everyone,

I need a new auger. Where can I buy a Finn-Bore in the Ottawa area? I was a Constance as well in the afternoon. Caught a few perch an hooked what felt like a pike but lost it at the hole :)

Cheers

Had a great time today. Was nice to see some familiar faces once again.
Forgot how much fun ice fishing is! Love the anticipation of not knowing what you've got on your line, and the surprise when you finally lift it out of the ice. :o
Didn't realize how competitive I am.. until today - (I have been bitten by the virtual fishing derby bug :D :D ) Been counting the points religiously...Woohooo! I'm now in the running

Was good to see all the kids enjoying the sport and sharing the fun with their families.

Look forward to meeting up with everyone again!

You're welcome Bradford! Figured the hot beverages would hit the spot!

See ya'all soon!

I'm kicking myself that I didn't get out today!

I think I might be heading to constance on Thursday though, but I hope its not raining... the weather network says 100% chance of rain. Now is it really possible to have a 100% chance on a prediction for Thursday?... i hope they are wrong!

If there is rain on Thursday, Snag, it will probably be the last for while. From what I hear, after a big warm up this week, there is a cold weather pattern expected thereafter with what our weatherdudes are saying will finally feel like "real winter". We'll see... We are supposed to see 56F on Wednesday of this week!
