There is a pole in a lake. One-half of the pole is in the ground, another one-third of it is covered by water, and 12 ft is out of the water. What is the total length of the pole in ft?

I haven't a clue on this one. FFFs this afternoon were simplistic compared to this. My visiting friend says this is an easy one. After a brief scribble and a confusing explanation he just came up with ** feet. My answer is Uncle Josh Pork Rinds.

How can you make the following equation correct without changing any of the numbers?:

8 + 8 = 91
