Thanks for the welcome everyone! Yes those two fish were mine caught on a recent trip. They weren't actually caught in the same day as the post suggested, one was on Nov 9th and the next one the 10th.

Hi Gord

I was the one who posted the information and links to your great catches. I am pretty sure that I got the info off of a discussion string on MuskyStriker.... but if not I am a fisherman so I do stretch the truth every now and again.

I just couldn`t believe my eyes when I saw the size of the lure you were using. I always get weird looks when I am out using muski tackle by people who just don`t get it... It makes me laugh because I know you have to go big to get the biguns.

Even if those girls were a day apart it is still one heck of a nice way to put closure on the year. I hope someday to get a chance to sit in on any seminars you do or even might hire your charter someday if I get to Lake of the Woods and try applying some of the tatics you use down here on the Ottawa. I have been chasing a big girl for a few years now and caught her younger sister this year... but not her.

I enjoy the Muskie Striker site and always look forward to reading the discussion forum there whenever I get a chance. I actually entered the contest this year twice and that is my personal best year so I must be learning. I am going to try to get to Hamilton this spring and so are a couple of other guys who call this site home. Can`t wait.

Thanks again everyone!

Seaweed, congrats on your PB, keep at it, the Ottawa is a great fishery and it's just a matter of time. Yes, I'm finding bigger is better and have really just recently started using the huge stuff you saw. I also was like most figuring what the heck would hit a bait like that, so when I started out I used 6 inch baits, then eventually 8 inch, 10, 13, 16. What I found was that as I increased the bait size so did the size of muskie on the very same spots I always fished. I'm now under the firm belief that big muskie are lazy and don't want to put alot of effort into eating. They want something big, slow and easy to catch, less energy expended, more goes for growing. Also, I've seen far too many chewed up 30" class pike to think that you can ever go too big.

Hello and welcome. I couldn't really view those video clips properly, but could get the gist of how absolutely HUGE the muskies were...and the baits! That is a jaw dropper in your avatar. Please post some more pics once you get settled in.

Hi wolfe, thanks!

Hmmmm, wierd the video wouldn't work for you. I've had other rare occasions that people experienced the same with a few of my other videos and am at a loss as to why. I just encoded the same clip as MPEG1 instead of WM9, this might work, although you may have to download it first to view it unless your on a high bandwidth ISP.
