Has their been a Ottawa area fish hawk meet up?

I’m seeing a lot of guys are from the Ottawa area since joining this forum a year ago. I’ve had lots of good info come from here. Has there ever been a meet up?

I know that some of the site admins (Jim Wilson for example) have tried to organize some stuff at Shirley's bay during the ice season, but I'm not sure if anything ever ended up happening. I'd love it if there was ever a Fish-Hawk event but maybe send a PM to Jim W if you want more info

Seems like you and I are the active ones on the forum right now. I think it could be a good idea. I’d love to do it for ice season as well. I only have an ice rod and limited knowledge but it’s something I’d like to do more of. I gotta meet some people in the city.

Yeah I feel like this forum has really slowed down since the pandemic when it got a bunch of new users. Now its just a bunch of bots and people reading but not interacting. It's too bad that there's less activity on here, but I'm also happy that there's less and less of the noobs who started in 2020 because they were bored but didn't bother to learn any etiquitte or follow regulations.

I joined last year also because I've learned a lot on this forum lurking and reading through posts. I'd be down for a possible meet up also and live in the Ottawa area.

When fish-hawk.net started many moons ago there were regular "meet-ups" including weekend fishing trips, back when the site was busier and lot more people posted, before other social media become popular.

I have been dealing with some family issues since last September, so Fish-Hawk things have been on hold pretty much. That being said I have a few things in the works for this summer and fall.... a get together.... contests.... hats and shirts....photo contest.... STAY TUNED!!
