Good morning!

New to the Ottawa area. Have been wading Britannia a lot but looking for some more areas to wade. Thank you all!

Wading to cool off? Or do you mean for fly fishing?

- ottawa river - these are not secret spots. I and many others fish them

Champlain bridge, Ottawa side, upstream from bridge - park in the lot and walk under bridge ... trails to the watet --- when water is low (aug, sept) you can wade far out. Smallmouth everywhere and they fight in the current. Suckers too, and pike but not usually in the fast water.
Toss a jig and twister and crank it back in current - 1-3 ft of water usually and hold on. Smallies hold in holes and behind rocks so they will smack a fast moving lure.. I use jigs as you can lose some.

Remic also had good wading --- out to the island in lower water -- be careful not to go too deep dowstream or you'll be in fast water with current.

Watch for pot holes ! Not usually an issue but watch where you walk. I usually wade to my knees or a bit higher and fish the rapids, toss and crank and zillions of bass

On the Rideau - wade downstream from Strathcona --- at Montreal Rd, Rideau River, east side.
At dusk and the place coughs up smallies (big ones) !!! Surprising for thin water.
Watch for "night life" -- people drink on shore, and other stuff when it gets dark, usually they will leave you alone
