Yes it is worth fishing. West end is shallow, east end is deeper.
Good for bass both largemouth and smallies. Fair for pike and poor for walleyes. When you do get a walleye its usually a big one.
I have a depth map of the lake if you have a fax I can send it. Sorry no scanner.

I've caught numerous lakers there south of murphys point in the trough, and quite a few nice lakers against the east wall (like 200 ft drop off from the shore).
Also troll the bays north from Murphy's Point and ou'll land a pile of Pike and smallies.
Good luck!
Huh?

Sportspal- I think you're mixing your Rideaus!
No Murphy's Point in Upper Rideau. That's one of the many
other Rideaus.

Back from Upper Rideau here's what happened, the north east wind was tough to contend with, but I stuck with fishing the wind blown side of some islands and came up with.
6 perch that ranged from 11" - 13 1/2".
5 notherns the largest was 4lbs.
2 largies largest was 2 lbs.
17 smallies the largest ones were in the 18" range
47 rock bass there all big
3 blue gills
All released
If the wind had been blowing from the west I probably would have done all right.
I'll have to try that lake again under different conditions.

Next time you're there and the wind permits
Try in McNallys Bay on the south west end near the Newboro Lock channel. There are loads of stumps in there as you go further back. Used to get tons of LGM Bass and pike when I lived on the lake.
There are also a few holes there that the odd pickeral like to hide in.
