Hi guys, I'm new around here but was hoping for some guidance around Kanata. I'm fairly new to the area and just starting to get out fishing again. I'm not looking for specific spots but was wondering if theres any areas around west Ottawa to try out for shore fishing. I'm not picky on species (wouldn't mind trying carp fishing, it seems like a good amount of accessible fun) I just want to get out. I've been out to Shirley's Bay with limited luck and Mississippi Lake a couple times but pulled in a smallie while fishing for pannies and saw another couple more on beds nearby so left that spot pretty quickly. Like I said, not looking for any hotspots, just some general direction. If anyone's ever looking for a fishing partner, let me know!

Re: Spring fishing near Kanata
If you go to Andrew Haydon park, there is a creek at the east end of the park. Lots of catfish if that interests you! Use bait worms chicken livers/hearts etc...

Thanks CCLad! I've been to the park a couple times but haven't tried fishing there- will bring my rod next time I'm there.
