Upgrading my electronics

What can I expect out of the Helix 7 with chirp mega side imaging and down imaging. For instance if I am in 8 ft. of water on a huge weed flat with weeds very close to the surface will I be able to see fish in the weeds as I drive over the flat below and out to the side of the boat. Anything else you can share about this unit (both good and bad)would be grateful .

I doubt you will be able to see fish in the weeds on your SI unless the weeds are very thin. You will be able to see holes in the weeds that generally indicate a rock which would be a good place to find fish. Using the DI or 2D beams, your coverage is only about 2' wide.
