Urgent Invitation!!! Need Response

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Urgent Invitation!!! Need Response

Post by Chrome_A_Saurus »

I am heading up to Lake Ontario Tributaries to go for Salmon and Browns ( hopefully ) for the weekend and the person I was going with just backed out on the plans. I have room for someone to come along. I am heading up with Floatfishin but I am taking my own car. We are leaving tonight at about midnight – 1:00 am to get up there for about 4 –5 and staying till Sunday. If someone wants to jump in with me you are more than welcome. We can split the gas or whatever

What you will need.

EDIT
and come to think about it I have most of this crap already as for tackle and if we need more then we can pick some up on saturday EDIT

Polarized shades but not a necessity

Noodle rod, 10 ft or more ( although I have done it with a 7 ft ugly stick multiple times and been successful )

Spinning reel or baitcaster, center pin if you have it

Leader material, 6 lb Vanish works ( main line can be whatever, I usually use 10 – 12 lb iron silk )

Hooks, 10, 12 is fine lol i put 10 and 12 odd in my hast to make this post lol

Small splitshots although I have quite a few

Floats, medium size Blackbirds or Phantoms are cheap and work fine

Tiny swivels to attach main line to leader

I have a spare set of waders ( depending on your size lol ) I am 5”10 with a size 10 foot and they are a little big on me

The waders are stocking foot so you would need an old pair of runners or boots

Salmon roe can be picked up in the area for bait but I am mostly using flies and pink worms ( 3 inch bubble gum Berkley power worms. ) for lack of having much roe.
For flies, egg sucking leaches ( black with orange head ), wooly buggers ( couple of different sizes ) , maybe some stone flies and/or helgramites may work as well and of course anything you may have in your arsenal that may work..

I am bringing a cooler for some sandwiches and pop or whatever but probably hit a restaurant a couple times as well.

I don’t think I missed anything but floatfishin will clear it up if I did. It is gonna be a blast and I hope someone can take advantage of it especially if you have never experienced a 20-30 lb salmon on the end of your rod in no more then 5 feet of water lol. Oh and by the way, not that much sleeping is gonna get done but I am sleeping in the car so maybe a pillow and blanket if you want.

Get back to me asap and we can go over the details cell phone # 220-0540

Cheers,

Chrome & Floatfishin'

Don't know if you'll see this prior to your leaving, but HAVE A GREAT TIME. Hope the action is hot!

Don't get into an argument over who will carry the shirt this time, OK?

Take lots of pictures!

W.

PS: you going to stay dry this time, FF?
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
