Head Pond - Zone 18 or 15

OK. Opener is 10 days away. Does anyone know if Madawaska Head Pond is Zone 18 or does it fall into Zone 15? On the MNR site, it seems unclear (its right on the border).

Also, anyone know if there is an improvement with the Clay Banks boat launch / vandal situation? Cameras, etc...

Thx.

I go through the same thing every year, can’t remember what I determined the year before.
It appears to be obscured by the Zone boundary line for Zone 18 so I’m going with that unless someone else has more insight.
We were there for the musky opener and nothing has changed. The dock is in, it looks like they put in some fresh gravel at the launch but that’s about it. No signs of any improvement in terms of security. We were there on the weekend so lots of people and activity but I am still not sure if I will go there during the week when few people are around.

From what I recall, we had to move a tournament up a week because the head pond was in zone 15.

I knew there was a map that showed better detail but I couldn't find it.
Thanks

The detailed maps for each FMZ are on the FMZ pages, under the "Detailed Maps" header
For example... FMZ15 https://www.ontario.ca/page/fisheries-m ... -15-fmz-15

Specific Headpond Map I posted - source is below...
