That's too bad don't like to see that happen to any business. ....but sign of the times I guess.

It's really too bad. They had good prices and more ice fishing stuff than other places. Sad to have an option taken away from the community. Sad for the staff too. Hope they'll all be able to come out of this on their feet.

I had noticed this cabella's announcement they had been keeping inventory low.

Is it just the Ottawa location or the others as well?

Was my go to Fishing store for the longest time, but....going to go home and have a good night sleep as usual.

I was there at lunch today and asked the cashier if she heard anything about them closing. She said they are going through a "restructuring phase" and no one is exactly sure what will come out of it. Not sure if that's just what they are telling their employees but that's what I heard from the cashier working today.

Too bad, I liked the store, although I found their customer service somewhat lacking at times.
Their online presence was/is horrible, restructuring should include turfing their web designer.

Always tough to hear a business closing no matter what it is. I feel for the staff, some great folks worked there. I'll miss our Ice Evenings there, they treated us like gold.

Man this is a shocker for sure and I knew the owner wanted to get out of it but figured she would just sell it. I really liked the store for my hunting needs and they carried a few items in the fishing dept that no one around here carried. Guess I will be going up to Norris's for my hunting equipment now.

She's been trying to get out of the business for many years.

Really! That is sad. They were my go to store (plus about 10 minutes from my house). They serviced special orders like my big. spools of braid for saltwater and the staff was always helpful.

Wow. Did not hear that one. I remember them from years past and at the sportsman show in Ottawa.

Their website is empty...
