Last year some Fish-Hawkers got together and had a muskie day on the Rideau, thinking of doing that again in late september or late october? It was a great time last year. Anyone interested? We can BBQ or something afterwards at Taylor park. (I know that I'm steeling RJ's idea , but since I couldn't make the last one. )
Still looking for someone to go with on friday 8am-mid afternoon.

I just read this great article on muskie fishing. Hey everything I can learn about these toothy critters is money in the bank by the time I get to an outing like you guys are talking about I at least have a few new ideas to try out... or reading these articles reminds me that what I am doing is going to produce fish sooner or later.
My advice would be to do it in late September or early October. Most of the annoying big cruisers, jet-skies and water-skiers should be off the water by then. Otherwise, a weekend outing on the Rideau can be quite miserable.
I'll feel really sorry for the poor family who's child is out swimming or waterskiing, and gets plowed over by that fool though. Going 80mph on a waterway that small is just plain irresponsible. Moron.
So, to all you fools out there who are driving these monstrous cigar and speed boats down the Rideau, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Might I suggest the ocean!
I've always said that's what the St. Lawrence is for.. Lots of open water in most areas with little boat traffic to worry about... Surely those guys would have a much better time not having to worry about hitting someone.
I know one thing though i'd never take my kid out tubing on the rideau.. i'd be too scared of seeing her get run over. I'm suprised we don't hear of more accidents.
