Perth/Smith's Falls shore fishing recomendations for a vaca

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Perth/Smith's Falls shore fishing recomendations for a vaca

Post by sonicsink »

Hi everyone,

We're looking at taking a little mini vacation or overnighter in the area. We don't have a boat, but would like to take our 3 kids to a few spots for some shore fishing. Any recommendations on any spots we can try or any places we can stay that has lake or river access? We don't want to do any camping. Thanks for your help!

So are you wanting to stay in a cottage type place or motel?? There are a ton of places in Perth to fish from shore and smiths falls has a few by the parks etc. you could also drive to Carleton place. Right in town by the high school is all water access. When are you coming down??
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

Ya a cottage or motel would be good, just googling around now looking at prices, we're thinking either mid july or mid august, depending on what my husband can get off at work. Since we don't know the town, we don't wan to end up at a spot where we aren't allowed to fish. I saw a place called Stewart park in Perth, is that a good spot to fish?

The dock at Narrows Lock is another spot that always holds fish -- try there.
