So kids and I wanted to go for a little fish at Baie McLaurin.
We arrived, to see a vehicle parked at the launch area, trailer and all yet no boat anywhere around.
Initial thought was, jackass, parking there not thinking about anybody else.
Than the weather really started to turn rough and the Baie was really rough. My spidey senses started tingling that an experienced boater would not leave their vehicle in the way.
Key word:experienced
Sure enough sirens blaring in the distance and fire truck on Notre Dame. Oh coming down the lane.
Hmmm.
Sure enough, our novice boater, hit something and lost his bottom end, and fire dept water rescue arrived shortly after to begin trying to locate them.
So I explained the lay out of the Baie this time of year with help from my Navionics app, and they successfully rescued man, woman and dog, with out their own life jackets, and no boat in tow.
Kinda thinking no operators card either.
It turned out ok in the sense of no injuries, and it gave my kids a fantastic life lesson! So at least something good came from a potentially dangerous situation
