Personal best walleye

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Personal best walleye

Post by jona38 »

My friend Chris and I went out this morning on the Ottawa out of Arnprior for walleye and he hooked into a dandy. 10.25lbs!!! His new PB. And yes, it's still out there swimming for you all to take a crack at. I also got a small sauger and 2 oos musky.

Very nice fish there Jon. That's a special catch for this area especially. Congrats to Chris on the catch and the release. Mind sharing how it was caught? Any story?

Cheers

We were set up on the edge of some heavy current doing some jigging but weren't getting much action so he decided to through a few casts towards shore with a deep diving crankbait. You can see in the first pic the fast water and the second pic a tiny bay with some slack water (we switched places to get a better pic). That's where it came from. Jon

Beauty walleye, that is a real one lol. Congrats on the personal best Chris!

My brother landed his biggest opening weekend over 8lbs and I was able to put two around 4-6lbs in the boat the same morning. God I love the Ottawa River!

Thanks for sharing :)
