Went out fishing for about 2 hours and lucked into some real bruisers! The cold front has them in feeding mode and they are stomping the lures!!! Caught the eaters in the first hour or so in one spot and the gorgin goliath was last to be caught. She was a 27 incher and would guess that weight at close to seven pounds. All were taken with artificials ie grubs, p bait minnows and swim baits are working great. For some reason the larger ones are hugging bottom more, catching most of them in that area. Get ready boys the fall bite is upon us!!!!!!!!!!
lolz yea can you believe the girth on that one?!? Must have ate a musky or something lol Caught that one with a regular old school mr.twister believe it or not, on a 1/32 ounce jig head. The smaller jig head gives the big twisters a very nice fall speed that walleyes can't resist. Just reel it back in and let it sink to bottom every 10 secs. or so.
Wow, what a beast from shore!!! Twister tails/grubs and plastic swim baits are absolute KILLERS for walleye. Forget about the expensive crank baits. No need to spend a bunch of money to catch a bunch of walleyes.
I agree walleye m, most of the time you can catch these fish with very simple techniques that cost next to nothing. The most expensive walleye lure I have is the shad rap, only because it works better than any other deep crank I have ever tried. The others are mostly dollar bin lures and soft plastics, and they seem to catch fish for me
