shallow water walleye
Sunday morning, 30 minutes from downtown Ottawa, walleye and crappie are coming into the boat as fast as I've ever experienced, the clients are having the best day of fishing they've ever had, and there isn't another boat in site. The shallow walleye bite was on fire this weekend. Flatlining worm harnesses (notably Etic's ''La Versatyl'' in golden shiner) on emerging weedlines is usually a big walleye pattern that has produced for me big in the past, but this particular weedline had a massive school of 13-15'' walleye on it and just as many slabs. We found the bigger walleye in the last hour of the trip, on a differnt weedline, but by that point, the boys were more than content with the treasures they had put in the livewell already. Some bull gills and jumbo perch went into the well as well. A magnificent morning on the mighty Ottawa. I love this River

Great fishin Yannick!
You ever let the folks throw cranks at a weedline like that? Now that would be fun!

My rate for a full day trip is $500 and I can take up to 3 guys. My boat, my rods, my bait, my food. Clients only supply a fishing license. A 6 hour trip is $400 and a 4 hour trip is $300.flewdogg wrote:Like Jason T said: how much and how many in the boat?
Another option is to let me mix and match. I have a list of individuals who are looking to get matched with other individuals to create groups. This brings your cost down significantly vs. booking a trip by yourself.
Just some food for thought. Weekends are booked just about solid into July. June 30th is my only open date at this point until July but I can squeeze in a 4hr aon a couple different days. I'm available weekdays too and availability there is better although I'm booked just about solid the week of the 17th.
Tight lines to all!

Re: shallow water walleye
We'll troll cranks along those weedlines for big fish, that's how we started Sunday morning. We were getting bumped steady but couldn't hook up. The main problem with cranks on weedlines on the Ottawa, as you know from bassing RJ, are the pike which are great when you're pike fishing but those teeth get annoying in a hurry when you lose your best cranks and have nothing to show off except your knot tying skills.RJ wrote:Great fishin Yannick!
