quiet day?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Yesterday was the slowest day I'd ever had on a particular spot. Good thing we got 4 walleye in the AM to save the day for the clients. A slow, post storm weekend mostly everywhere from what I hear.

From everything I've heard from the guys I've spoken to it stunk everywhere....

Down at Quinte they had an event thru the Quinte board with a pile of regulars on that board.....20 guys.....one fish caught all day.....that's tough!

I spent two evenings out in my shack and sure didn't put a beating on em.... they were there......just very finicky or "off".

Same story here. Went looking for Crappie yesterday afternoon... marked a pile of fish, had only one hit in 2 hours, didn't get a hookset.

The slush was passable yesterday - getting really soft today. The weight of the snow is pushing the ice down. We need a good week without snow and with cold nights, looks to be getting colder later this week.

Was at a "new for me" crappie spot on Sat and neither my wife or I hooked into anything in 5 hours. The other group on the ice only brought one through the hole is the same amount of time.

Will probably try the same spot again next week.

Same here at Black Bay. Took my wife ,two little girls and the neighbour out for a midday fish. Nice and sunny, barely any wind just a picture perfect day to be on the ice. Put a couple lines in to start and had two hits and a small perch right away within two minutes! Thought we were going to have to start pokin a few more holes but then.........nothing for the next 3 hours  The girls all strapped on skates and played on the nicely manicured rink that was there and overall had a nice day playing in the sun but the fishing was slowwwww. Used a couple different colours of swedish pimple and tried a couple eerie dearie tipped with small minnows as well. Oh well better than sitting at home wondering if they are biting. Cheers!

:D Had and awesome day yesterday, was out with a friend and his girlfiend on LAKE W and we got a few OOS fish and lots of bluegills and after 5 the crappies moved in it was an all out battle The biggest went 14" and we had to leave early so don't know how good it would have gotten. Lost a few at the hole only because they were so big.

Of the ten or so walleye I was in on this weekend, only 2 were caught jigging. I'm looking forward to the late season jig bite picking up. Nothing like having your arm go up and your rod tip stay put.
