Since salmon season ended for me we have now been starting to dial in the Walleye. We are starting to get decent numbers with some big fish as well. The fish below was this guys first walleye ever and it weighed in at 10lbs 2 oz. Needless to say he was pumped and the fish is going on his wall. Ahhh I love this time of year, there are a good number of fish to be had. I'm finally getting the time to go after them.

The original poster caught a legal fish. Kept it. I support his legal right to do so fully.
Leave it alone. Ask someone else to change the law... or change it yourself.
Do NOT whine at people practicing their right to harvest what they worked so hard for.

Great fish.
And great reply Craig...
I'm sure anyone who fishes Quinte has kept a "spawner" or two.

Yes, Thanks for the post Craig. Nicely put to rest.
Great Walleye, hoping I will have something to hang this fall in the form of a large Walleye.

Thanks fellas, I let it be known on my boat that all fish over 10lbs will be released unless, they are not healthy enough to be released or unless they are going on a wall. We boated 34 over 10lbs last year and all but one were releases because a guy put it on his wall. I have been fishing the shoals of Lake Ontario and if anyone is interested in trying it themselves just pm me and I will share the info with you.

That is an excellent walleye! especially for a first time walleye! I know my first walleye was nothing but a minnow compared to that wopper! Good on the guy, hope he catches the walleye bug!
