I am new to the area--came across this site by luck and you guys seem to have a great time--looking foreward to being a part of it. Walleye does not appear to be discussed very much but this is where Im looking to start my exploring of the area. Any suggestions for good walleye lakes where I can start--Would like to spend some time on the Quebec side but Ont. info would be much appreciated as well. Thanks all.

What area do you live in? What size boat? For some reason, there aren't alot of walleye posts this year, but don't be fooled there are LOTS of walleye around. You don't have to go far. The Ottawa River has many solid walleye holes. Try jigging worms or minnows at the mouth of any inlet in the evening, or near the mouth of any sizeable bay. The big boys hang out in the weeds, but they're hit or miss.

I haven't fished walleye in this area too much and am not a walleye fisherman in general (although you can't beat the taste) but have had a couple of really nice trips in Quebec if you want some recommendations there ... these places are a little remote but really produce well.
The other guys here will point you in the right direction for the ottawa area ... good luck.

I'd like to know of some good Walleye lakes around the area also..
i don't do much fishing in quebec but there are tonnes of walleye in the area.
ottawa river have a good number of walleye and they are usually concentrated in regular river locations. when you get one you'll probably get a couple. there is also a heathly population of sauger, they are usually smaller but more aggressive.
mississippi lake, calabogie lake, rideau river; pretty much spoiled as far as possible locations for walleye; just about all bodies of water in the area hold walleye. shallow, deep, weeds, suspended it's just about figuring them out that day and thats part of the fun.
i've had days where i began the day pitching jigs shallow, then bottom bouncing, then pulling cranks up high and catching walleye throughout the day until they cool off and its time for a change-up. i've also spent the day trying everything in the box and go home without a fish for my efforts. i guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching as a good friend would say.

Fifth depot lake , second depot lake , wolf lake , Sand lake , little long lake near Parham , Kenabec lake , Bay of Quinte , and the grand daddy of them all Lake Ontario , all these lakes have sustainable and catchable population of fish hope this helps If you need some spots to hit PM me and i'll try to steer you in the right direction Bill
