Just got back from fishing with a buddy under one of many bridges on the Rideau and after being there for about 2 hours a group of 4 came and started fishing right next to us with there worms and weights making it almost impossible for us to cast out..... Now I am just curious to find out how many of you would of handled the situation!? Personally I would of went as far away as possible as the fishing spot is kinda tight for 2 people to begin with.... :?

that was obviously rude of them, i have had it happen before; mostly kids or adults who are new to fishing. But in this case since you have already fished for a couple of hour I would have done the same as you and just moved on.

oops

Ok I'm not advocating this however people tend to move over after they've has a treble hook or two stuck in their ear ... or even it comes close ... simply an observation ...

I would continue fishing
if you snag their line and they complain
just ask them
"why would you cast your line in a spot that someone is allready fishing in"
tell them that" there is such a thing as fishing ettiquet "

"do not get into another fishermans space"

If you are outnumbered or they are bigger than you ,it might be best to keep silent

ya got to guage the situation and act accordingly, not worth getting hurt over

The line i use is simple, loot at em and ask " Big F#@#$#ing river/lake eh" If they dont get it, they arent worth arguing with. Then start skipping stones.

That's what I usually do ! It seems to work after skipping some rocks :) And if that don't work I usually start singing music from the prince !! Tutut when doves cry ! 8)

hey size thos enot matter..we were afew big mans at victoria and again few just in front off us a sit there and cats and so on.

some people are simply no brainer.

i was just wishing they get tangle all the time on rocks..and usely it happens. .

there is not mutch that can be done...not iligal..just stupide.off them.

shore fishing is fun and realxing..we sher dont need that stuff to happen .

but you can just go away and fish somehwre hesle..and be free.

or play the game and cast over them and bring there line in every 5min.... until they say something bad then..... 8)

Yeah you can just pack up and go fish elsewhere, that would be the smart thing to do

but how often do you do that till you say
"enough is enough time to take a stand"
then things happen that you regret

and all you really wanted to do was to fish in peace

I have had it happen a few times, i just mentioned to the guy that there is such a thing as fishing etiquette and that its rude to fish on top of someone. The good guys often get embaressed apologize and move on.

lets hope the bad guys read this , and learn fishing etiquette, become good guys
