What do they charge you to get on the ferry to Masson?
Completely free on the other side of the river.

What a joke....I'm sorry but $27 freekin dollars, that's absolutely ridiculous. What kind of a service do they think they are providing??
That's just pure greed
When you look at what else is available
Petrie Isl....$14
Quigley hill...free
Wendover....free
Treadwell.....free
Bay L'orignal...$5
Hawksbury....free
I can tell you one thing, I think they are out of their freekin minds and they'll never get a dime from me and I'm on the Ottawa 40-50 times a season.

What a joke
27 bucks has to be the most expensive ramp in Eastern Ontario.
http://en.clarence-rockland.com/siteeng ... hText=boat
If you plan to go more then 4 times buy the season pass......
But after using that ramp a LOT over the last few years.... I don't think I'll go once this year.....

It's always been theft, they want me to pay $366 to use their launch when all others are free. Unreal I can't remember the last time I paid to use a lauch on the Ottawa. It was at Petrie when I took the familly to Ottawa for the hot air ballon festival some years ago. And now I'm not going to be a resident anymore it's even more robery if I tried to get away with a non resident permit instead of a commercail one.
I'm thinking of building a lauch in my backyard as I have a road that goes down and around the entire 320 feet of waterfront.
Maybe I'll charge $20 and train my kid to park the rigs up the road. LMAO
I think Matt forgot Lefaivre and Presqu'ile , Parc L'Orignal to his list of free launches this side of the O.
BTW the most expensive boat launches I know of are $20 a day and when you use it 6 times they give you a yearly pass. Naturally those are on the Larry not the O.

I agree that the single use fee is ridiculous but it seems to me they are simply trying to push people into seasons passes and at $126 it's really not a bad deal.
Petrie is $220 and then you have to deal with the opening and closing times. I have waited outside the gate for the ramp to open and I hate it when the fish turn on just about the time you have to make that high speed run to make it back to the ramp for closing.
Okay, 30 miles per hour isn't really high speed but you get the point!
I guess it's a matter of balancing the cost of gas and time to travel to other ramps

5 mins up the road the launch is free in Wendover too. Two concrete launches 5 seconds off the highway with a fair amount of parking.....

Last year they waned 25$ but were talked into lowering back to what they used to charge (20$?).
For those of you who use it and are now outraged you can do something about it.
1) write a letter to the mayor of Rockland and send copies to the city councilors and to the local paper. Tell him/her that you will not ever use the ramp. By not using the ramp revenues will drop not only for the City but for any businesses you frequent within Rockland.
2) Send the same letter to Tim Horton's, the gas station and even the Chip wagon on the corner. Why them... well if you don't use the Rockland ramp then you probably won't be stopping for Gas , Coffee etc. This means less revenues for them.
And when I say a letter I do not mean e0mail. An actual paper stcik a stamp on it letter.
If enough people let them know that $27 is out and out greed and you will not use the ramp.
I decided a couple of years ago that 20$ was too much for ramp fees. so I have not been back with my boat.
Bitching here may be fun but will not do anything. Bitching to the right people might get some action.

Good idea Norm but that should of been done the first year they closed the free federal launch and installed their cash grab ones.
They have been getting away with it for years and will continue to do so.
I sure told the local business that they were losing a lot of revenue as I always stoped at the gas station to grab gas and food and now never go there.
I think they survive on the tournaments as most would rather launch for free and fish are all over the river.

I haven't been back in a few years, I expect valet service at that price!
The Lefaivre launch is great and for tournaments the local Lions club usually helps out. Tons of parking as well!

$5 is reasonable. I haven't gone there in years now...and don't plan on it. I'd use $50 worth of gas to get somewhere else just on principal.
I can't believe they'd make any $ this way?
@#$%#$^% crap.
Other than that...have a nice day!
