Not taking anything away from Yak fishers but common, a record based upon the boat? What's next, shore-fishing record, cedar strip canoe record, wading record, tin boat record? How about a record for the biggest fish caught from shore with spinning gear while wearing sneakers on a Tuesday...
I miss coffee flavored coffee, beer flavored beer, vodka flavored vodka and fishing records being about the fish, not the boat.
That aside it's still 2x the size any fish i've caught and it's easily mid aug before my total bass caught to-date weight is over 14lbs...

Impressive
If you've ever fished out of a Kayak, you would understand the challenge.
I've landed an 8.5lb Largie in Florida standing on a bass boat and that was a crazy fight. I can't imagine catching a 14lb+ Largemouth while literally sitting "on" the water with no height leverage on the fish and only relying on the rod to fight the fish. That's pretty impressive.
Kistler will definitely take the kudos that a big fish was caught on a Kistler Rod but he is truly a great angler to consistently put big fish in the 'yak.

Holy Crap!!!!!!!
That bass is a beast..........
I have all the respect for those that fish from yak or canoes, our common bond is a love for fishin, how we choose to fish is a personal choice.

It's people like you that make me feel the way I do about "wanna be" pros. Fortunatly I've had the pleasure of meeting and fishing with some real pros, and I know there is a big difference.jwhite wrote:Kayak fishing is getting way too much air time around here these days.
