Can someone tell me when a non-resident Quebec 1 year fishing licence expires? It's been a very long time since I bought a full year license for Quebec but I think I recall the expiry date being some time in March or April, not Dec 31 like it is in Ontario.

Thanks for you help.....

Quebec license are valid by Fiscal year ( April 1 to March 31) and not like in Ontario Calendar year ( Jan 1 to Dec 31).

Hope this helps !

From the regs:

Who can fish without a license:

"a resident under 18 who is fishing for species other than salmon, if he has on hand the Junior Angler certificate issued following a fishing initiation activity or under the ”Relève à la pêche” program; "

Non-resident 16 year old can fish under his parents fishing license but they have to share the Daily Possession limit. If the parent is not there with them then the 16 year old has to have the parent's license on them.

To have there own limits or if his parent(s) do not have a license then they need to buy there own. That's what I was told by Que. MNR when my son used to come with me on my Walleye opening weekend fishing trip at Dumoine Lake.
