Ice Auger Sharpening

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Stores should be selling off the winter stock anytime now....

I picked up a few sets of extra blades last year 75% off at everyones favorite "tire" store. Can't beat $6.50 for new blades.

Pick up a Speedy Sharp tool and keep it in your tackle box for quick touch-ups as well. This little sharpener is great, it will but an edge back on lawn mower blades.

I just replaced the blade on my Jiffy 30 after 8 years!!...I will keep the one I took off as a spare because it still cut fairly well...

Bottom line is to TAKE CARE of your auger...... after you finish cutting holes put the protective cover back on immediately...

Another good tip is don't put the blade in the snow after you've cut a hole or else you'll get a huge build-up of frozen crap on the blade which will result in poor cutting!!
