looking for an Ice fishing partner in Kingston

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

JP -- I'll be in the area at some point this weekend (visiting a graveyard in Godfrey) but will be with the father in law and I think he's got a different lake in mind. What end/area of 30 island do you focus on? I fish there every third or fourth weekend in the bass season... Might be able to give you some pointers..

Thanks Highlander.

I will be fishing the end closest to 13 Island lake just off James Wilson Rd. My Girlfriend lives in the bay there.

I have caught Walleye at the point before and Pike in the bay. I know it has been stocked with Walleye and just need to locate the large numbers that exist.

Thanks for the help and any info would be great.

There are by all accounts goodly numbers of good-sized walleye in that lake. Access is difficult, and that of course helps keep numbers on the higher side. I have never fished it, and would jump at the opportunity to go, but am on my way to London Sunday. :(

Good luck, JP!

Hi Doug.

You are right there is no public launch and all the land is private. i am lucky that my girlfriend has a place on the lake and can access it anytime.

Another time Doug for sure.

Cheers

Hey JP,
I'm in Ottawa, not Kingston but would love the chance to explore some new water.
If you are still looking for some company let me know and if given directions I could meet you at the location say around noon Sunday.
I too have a 2 man shelter, auger etc.
I would be more than willing to take any other Fish-Hawker with me as well so anyone reading this with interest but no ride let me know.

Thanks,
Dan Smyth

How about this -- if I go with the father in law Saturday, i'll go back Sunday with you Dan, how does that sound? Then we can all stomp around 30 island together :)

Just want to thank JP for the invite and Ian for the company yesterday. It was a great afternoon on the ice in a very nice setting. Fishing wasn't great but that's the way it goes sometimes.
