Rockland walleye

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Rockland walleye

Post by Yannick Loranger »

Hi everyone,
I was out tonight with Highlander (Ian) for some walleye fishing and a boat test drive. Turned out to be one of the best walleye outings I've had since I've moved here. Numbers of fish were average for this time of year (10-20/night) but tonight we were able to get away for the 6" sauger and get 6 keepers. It'll only get better from here, can't wait 'til the big boys show up.
tight lines,
Yannick

Nice lookin' string of fish Yannman! Were you jigging in say 20 to 30 feet of water for those eyes? 8) Was white workin' for you or firetiger curly-tails? :) Hints? :D LarryB

Caught as deep as 22' and as shallow as 9'. We moved shallower as at the night progressed. Jigging spoon with a minnow + stinger hook. I hope this helps.
By the way, if anyone with a good boat wants to go out for walleye in the upcoming weeks, please let me know. I'm up for showing you some spots. My boat isn't the best for the weather conditions often associated with late fall fishing.

Tight lines,
Yannick
