Quinte Thanksgiving weekend

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Quinte Thanksgiving weekend

Post by jimbob »

Hi
My name is Jim & this is my first post here.
I am heading to Quinte next Saturday for my first time in the Fall.
I was hoping to score a little info or a lot of info. :?:
First off, can I launch @ the Gov't docks by the ferry or anywhere else in that locale?
What depths or locations are good to try this time of year?
Should I bring my downriggers ?
I'm assuming trolling crankbaits is the norm but should I bring some live bait as well ?
Thank you for any & all info
Jimbob :D

I am also new here! I have been lurking and when I saw this post I had to register. Not to steal this thread but I am also looking for Quinte advice. I will be going to Quinte on Thanks Giving also (wifes and my anniversary trip) and would like any recommendations for launching and camping.

I will be traveling from Ottawa area with truck / camper and dragging 'Ole Blue' along. Any recommendations for a camp site with launch. I don't need hydro, etc.

I don't know much about Quinte - only ice fished it once many years ago. Any advice on where to go would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Mike

Welcome to the website guys.

Great day launches at Picton or next to the Ferry or down in Desoronto for the other end of the bay.
There are several campsites in Hay Bay with good launching and access to Thompsons / Shermans points.
Best recommendations,
get a map of the bay
Also check out the "other website" http://forums.quintefishing.com/phpBB2/index.php

use the quinte fishing site, and go through 2008, 2007, and 2006 october reports.

this will give you an honest idea of what to expect.
