Being the net man

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ahhh,,,,,,

But were you using the same technique????

I've had it happen. Adopt the same technique and it makes ALL the difference.

I am a FIRM believer that just because you know a spot or a lure..don't mean squat.

Hi Carmine, no way does it suck. As long as you are fishing with a good friend and at least one of you is catching the fish...all is good with the world.

Would you rather be at home mowing the lawn or weeding the garden?

Hey Carmine,

Sure it would have been nice to be the one reeling in those nice lakers my brother caught last weekend, but I have to say, if you get into the excitement of the fight and know you're helping by successfully netting the fish, it still gives you a pumped up high. So yeah, I'm a little jealous  , but I'm still pretty happy to have been part of the experience, especially with my brother whom I don't get to fish that often with.

Don't worry: someone will be netting something for you in the near future!

At least you got to net them. I remember 5 years ago myself and a buddy were fishing on Scugog when all hell broke loose. Mr. muskie slammed my lure and the fight ensued. I had it right up to the boat and yelling to my buddy to grab the net. I look over and out of nowhere this little net hits the water!! Yep, he grabbed the smallest one in the boat :x Needless to say, by the time he reached over and grabbed the one I screamed for him to get, the muskie gave one last headshake and spit the lure back at me :( Guess who doesn't fish with me anymore? lol You will get your chance at being the one yelling to get the net!!

Without a good net-man, there would not be a 7 & 6 1/2lb walleye to talk about.
One of the guys I fished with is a real "ax-man" with a net. Means well, great guy to share a boat with....but scary with a net.

I'm sure you'll get the 'eyes figured out.
