We got to enjoy our cottage for a few days as well as one of my other favorite lakes, Charleston, where my brother and Mom had rented the cottage we used to in past years. We did a little visiting back and forth, and timed our outing to Charleston for lakers on opening day.

[Andre (Dartee), I think I saw you pulling out of the launch around 12:15 or 12:30...was that you?]

The kids hammered the panfish from shore. It was nearly a fish a cast, so you can imagine the numbers caught between the kids. It's always been a great place to shore fish for our family. I got in on the fun as well, and for my 12 casts I caught 10 panfish, mostly rockbass. What fun!

We got in a little family boat time, too, including my brother, during which we all boated some smallish pike and panfish.

Little Toothy for me...

And of course Torpedo cannot be left out!

My hubby obligingly took the kids back to shore for some baseball fun and more shore fishing so my brother and I could do some catching up and chase lakers. I was not so lucky with lakers...this was more the story for me. (By the way, that's my brother's dog, "Linus", a Belgian Malinois and a great fishing companion.)

Big brother had the touch for these beauties; no weights, but one chunky 23 incher and a longer, but thinner, 26". Very pretty fish which gave us both huge smiles for the evening and were released well & frisky.

Few Pic's from Wolfe Lake as well...

Now look what you musky guys taught my kid about making fish look bigger with this hold.

Another Wolfe Lake snot rocket for the Torpedo (with his proud uncle)

Shane (a.k.a. Devil Loon) took the Jumbo Perch award with this beauty:

More fun with perch and panfish...

Unfortunately, no walleyes, which I was really disappointed at and actually kind of surprised, so I get DropShot'r's whole point in his last thread!! I spent more time doing outside work at the cottage than fishing, but we had a few nice little outings, so can't complain!

Loons were going nuts, eagles on the nest again, and other than the godforsaken mosquitoes, nature was an absolute pleasure to behold!

love the colors on the "golder" looking trout. reminds me of lakers in a certain quebec lake.

that area is very spectacular, and the history of Charleston lake is more impressive. many archeological sites have been found, including pottery at a certain portage, that must of fell off a canoe ages ago.

my second mother has a cottage on redhorse lake, pretty close to larose bay.

loved the pics!

Torp: You really need to keep this up..I see a nice summer for you for sure. Maybe even a career...But finish school first.
