Sorry for asking this question but I've been in meetings all day and I haven't even been thinking of this at all but anyway, is fishing season open for Pike on White Lake this weekend? If this was asked before sorry for the repeat
Until now I thought it was part of zone 15. hmmm, Is madawaska lake (before the hydro dam) in arnprior zone 15 or zone 18? Looks like the same area as white lake.
Also how can I find out what county a particular water body is in? Would you guys phone the local MNR office for this?
Sorry to OP for thread jacking, but I think he got his answer.
Absolutely.... I know I have probably wrote this a bunch of times as others have as well but....
WHEN IN DOUBT>>>> CONTACT THE MNR...
Also since everyone is shootin' out rental info... I recommend Cedar Cove Resort... great new owners and nice Lunds with johnsons for rent. And grab some food before ya go as Bill the chef can cook up some mean eats.
white lake is in bagot,McNab and darling twnshp.'s,of which the first 2 belong to renfrew county,as does lake madawaska, but white is zone 18,the mad is in 15. white is open the 2nd saturday in May. Mad opens the 3rd. the pike are like people in white lake, there is one on every sq. foot.

Mr J,
Pike fishing on White Lake is much like Mississippi Lake. Its a snot rocket factory - you cant go 200 ft of shoreline without hitting one, and in the summer they are hard on bass tackle for sure. Unfortunately its also like Mississippi that a pike of any size at all is a very rare thing. The pike are still fun - but if you could get your hands on a 4 pounder, you would be doing very well.
Early in the season look for the deeper weedbeds and fish along those and you will certainly find them.
I have the total opposite experience as Firefox...can't keep the buggers off my line. Mr J in three mile bay you are near a few of my pike spots. When are you heading up. I will give you some info for sure.
Im not sure that you and I have opposite experiences. They jump in the boat for me on White Lake as well - at least in the southern end (Three Mile bay and Sunset). Oh and they love to steal bass jigs and frogs in the summer.
I know the MrJ is looking for quality over quantity though - and Im not sure that White Lake is the first place I would recommend looking for big pike. Numbers are fantastic, but they are mostly all hammerhandles
Yes Firefox...We do have the same experience then....The odd 4-5lber in there and rumours of a 10lber near Cedar Cove but people have hunted it for years and nothing ...Anyway more 1-3lbers then anything like fox said. Sorry firefox I thought you meant not many pike in there
Anyway the biggest I have taken from White Lake was a 4.7lber out of Three mile bay area.
