White Lake, Arnprior area question(s)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

White Lake, Arnprior area question(s)

Post by surge »

Friends and I have been coming to the Rideau chain of lakes for more than 20 years now. We always come over Victoria Day weekend and fish for pike. Lately we have been staying in the Clear Lake area. Just found some info on White Lake in the Arnprior and Renfrew areas. Just wondering if we'd have as much fun on White Lake as we do on Clear, Opinicon, Newboro, and other lakes where we fish now. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

White Lake is just outside of the town of Arnprior. The town of Renfrew is about 30 min further west. White Lake has it's fair share of pike and you probably wouldn't be disappointed if numbers is the game.

From your post I gather that you guys like to fish more than one body of water. From White Lake you are a stone's throw to nice launches that will let you fish the Ottawa River between Arnprior and Ottawa or Arnprior and Renfrew. You also have the section of the Madawaska River between the Arnprior hydro dam and the Stewartville hydro dam. I've never fished the Madawaska River but I spend a lot of time on the Ottawa River and there is no shortage of water or pike.
