Big Fish Tale from the Winnipeg River

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Big Fish Tale from the Winnipeg River

Post by Rybren »

I received this in an email this morning. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the story, but boy, it this a big fish or what?

This is the new record in Canada. He caught it on the Winnipeg River, by Seven Sisters, in Manitoba. Check this thing out. The last picture is unbelievable. This guy (in the photos), was fishing and caught a 36lb. Pike. As he was reeling it in, a 56 lb. Pike tried to eat it. He brought them both in on the same net. Awesome catch on a river in Canada 55 lbs, 56 inches. It goes to show you that live bait works the best for the giant fish.

I'd throw a guess out there at the 10 time range

I don't mind looking at the pics again, even if it a european fish.

This was a first for me. I just couldn't get over the size of that fish and had to share.

Actually from Holland. But the proof is in the pudding. catch and release really works!!!!!!!!!! It's been caught in a couple of different countries so far. And it's always by the same guy.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

No problem, I don't blame you, others have done the exact same. In my opinion, it is better to contribute something that you think others will like especially when it is a fish like this. Besides it is always exciting to see the new place the guy in the picture has been fishing, so we can steal his locations. :D (joke)

Gotta love it! Two completely different pics put together and it has been caught in every body of water on both continents. That fish sure has a large roaming territory!!

Although I get sick of seeing the guy's mug over and over, seeing a pike so immense is a thrill every time. Thanks for sharing it. It's worth the "encores" it gets.
