				Hi all,
This year our first open derby will be taking place on Feb 15th. It is a fundraiser for CHEO organized by a local realtor. Details are still being worked out but we are looking at a different format from previous years:
- pre-drilled holes in a cordoned off area
- fish from 11:00 to 3:00, no tents, no electronics, old fashionned fishing only...
- cash prizes for the biggest fish, draw prizes for a wide range of items
- entry fee includes a store voucher and a meal (probably chili, salad and garlic bread) at Johnny Canucks, located on Trim at top of hill
- holes to be assigned on a draw basis morning of the derby
We will post more details as they become available. We are doing this with an Orleans Realtor, which has raised over $270K for Cheo in the past four years through a range of events. This is their first winter one. I expect to see quite a selection of prizes as they have many connections in the area. They have volunteers but few with much expertize in ice fishing and derbies. Fish-hawkers have been a part of the Oziles winter derby for the past few years and would love to have a few of you on board the organization committee for your knowledge and expertize. If any interested PM me and I can provide more details.
Looking forward to seeing F-H well represented on the 15th!!
Cheers
Yves
