Braid selection help.

Just bought a nice daiwa baitcaster with a 6.3-1 ratio and slapped it on a new convergence 66mh. My plan is to use this primarly for chucking frogs.

My other baitcaster is loaded with power pro 20lb test. What is the maximum pound test that should be used. I have a spool of 65lb tuffline here but I am not sure if that would be overkill!

Please help.

I've got 55 on mine right now. My favourite braid is Stren SuperBraid. That stuff is awesome; you can really feel the difference in the lighter lines.

You should also check the spool capacity. The small spools on some low-pro models might not cast so well with a heavy braid.

Happy Frogging

Mike uses 65lb Tufline on all his baitcasters and wouldn't use anything lighter. Went up from 50lb last year.
