Good morning everyone, I have a question that I'm having trouble getting answers for. I'm heading out camping this weekend with my 11 year old son. I know he doesnt need a lisence to fish in Ontaio but we will also be fishing in Quebec teritory. Do I need to buy a Quebec license for him as well as for myself?

From the info on the following link, I would say your child can fish under your licence.

http://www.mrnfp.gouv.qc.ca/english/pub ... icence.asp

The question "Do the preceding measures also apply to non-residents?" is answered with "Yes. They apply to both residents and non-residents." The question about a child fishing under your licence is a "preceding measure".

Beachburger,
I owe you a beer !.
I have been buying my son a Quebec license the past few years as he is 21 so I thought over 18 years old he needs one.
But I just read in the regulations that you posted, that as a student he is good until age 24 (I hope he graduates before then!!!) under my license.
Thanks,
Dave

Also just make sure that your son carries a valid student card while fishing as stipulated in the QC regs.

Also remember that any fish he may catch and keep is part of your limit.
