Well I know it is a little early to come around with this but in order to make it smood on the cash flow I am starting to save money for my dream vacation this month......for next year!
I am planing going down to Mexico for some LMB fishing. Of course this will appen in 2009 Jan or Feb. No date as been confirm yet. I will try to gather as much information as possible to make best choices about this trip.
Now, I would like to make this a FH event. If you start saving now...this should be a possible thing for you.... this is a must to go event guys!!!!
Some offer specials for groups over 12.
I would like to know what you think about this....what you know...if some of you went in the pass I would like to know how you did.

Hey I go to Ixtapa Mexico almost every year as my dads Mexican friend has a house on the colf course (5 minutes to ocean). He rents to us cheap and it sleeps 10, with a kitchen, nice yard and a pool.
You can go fishing on the bigger boats 10 plus miles out or a little boats around shore.
The fishing there is the best anywhere, alot of Sailfish (caught 2 first time out) and all other deap sea fish.
Nice beaches, 2 golf courses, great night life.. ect.
I have often thought of going down with 10 guys and do some serious fishing, golf ect.
There is a direct flight from Toronto @ about $600.00.
If this sounds any good let me know, I am sure we could get this place, its like a cottage to him.

Largemouth Bass...
This is the only type of fishing I want to do down there .For Exemple check out Lake El Salto.....this is the type of lake I want to fish but there is others. Do your research on the Web about largemouth bass fishing and come back to let me know if the location of the cottage you have is close by one of the prime lakes for trophy bass.

Only one life to live.....got to do this....for me anyways bass fishing is what I live for...It's time to upgrade my passion a little. If we can manage to get a few guys down there it will be a blast for sure!!!!!!
As far as the price tag......not that expensive and sure worth the experience and the fun!!!!
This would be one package for exemple....
Lake El Salto Package Price:
Package #1
4 nights lodging (double occupancy) 3 full days of fishing, guide and boat, meals, beer, margaritas, fishing license and ground transportation to and from the lodge. Price per person - $1595.00
You have to add to this the flight.
Like I said this is one package exemple.....I would assume you could get
everything for less than 2500$ I'll have 3G's on the table for this trip all together.
I allready have some people in high place looking into prices and places
and we will try to find the best price for the perfect location.

Everyday i put all the change from my pockets into a big Wine Basin(spelling?), basically its a huge glass jug. I have been fortunite this past August to be blessed with a son. I plan to keep dumping my change into the jug and when he is old enough we're going to empty out the jug and roll all the change that we get out ot it. Then it'll be time to plan our trip to almost anywhere we like to fish. I don't know quite yet know what fish we'll target, but i'd like to get into something mind blowing.... not just bass, obvisouly we'll make that a day on our trip, but i'd also like to include some off-shore angling to introduce him to. But thats my plan, save up for a number of years and i think by the time we empty the jug we should have enough to spend at least a week maybe even 2 weeks anywhere in North America. So im considering Florida, that way we can have the chance at some trophy sized bass, grouper, Jacks, and maybe even try the flats for some bonefish. Theese are all things i have never been fortunite enough to do yet, so the 1st time i'm gonna go will be with my son. I figure it'll be a good experience for the both of us. Anyways, those are my plans for future fishing.

There's something to be said about fishing the best places in the world for the certain trophy fish that swim in those waters. Unfortunately, alot of those places come at a heftier price tag.
I would rather do a one week long trip, be ecstatic and experience the best, than a two week trip for the same cost, at a place that doesn't make me as happy or measure up. But that's me.
El Salto is very likely one of the top destinations for largemouth bass, and the trip is all inclusive. If a huge bass is your thing than this would likely be a great trip.
Problem for me is, there's plenty other fish in the sea I'd rather chase first, and, I wouldn't travel that or even much less a distance for just a 3 day trip. Too much chance for bad weather on the water or flight issues destroying a 3 day plan. Minimum 5 days fishing to allow for problems. (Heck, I just lost a full day off my honeymoon down that way because of AirCanada. Thank god it was a 7 day trip and not a 3)
I've got arctic char, atlantics, big lakers, peacocks and payara, tarpon and maybe even taimen in my sights, all before bass and before I croak.
