Clayton Lake a bust!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Clayton Lake a bust!!!

Post by almontefisher »

Well I got to get out for about 2 hours today on Clayton and well it was great to get out onto the ice which is about 13" with 5"-6" of good ice at the bottom and another 7" or so on that. We walked from the road about 2 miles and drilled or first hole...kept drilling...and drilling...this is not right??? We check the blade and one of the bolts had broken off and the blade was just spinning around on the bottom. We managed to find a bolt almost the same size and drilled 2 holes in about 20 minutes...fished for 1 1/2 or so and did not get one bite. There were some guys just down from us and it sounded like they got a few  Anyway the ice is solid to walk on and ski-doos were on it as well.
