Is this new or is it DEW!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Could be both. Some gear oil is a nice blue and some higher end stuff is the colour of maple syrup. If there is water in there you will notice it becomes milky. You can also smell it, used gear oil smells burnt usualy.

When you drain the foot there is always a bit of "old oil" left so it could have mixed in.

Best of luck!

Is it your gear oil or engine oil and what brand engine do you have. There is many brands of oil for both and a couple are dark. Let me know and I can better help you.

Did it smell foul? It looks like well used gear oil and not changed. Gear oil is iether fairly clear like thick motor oil, blue or green depending on the brand.
Looks like it hasn't been changed, does not look like water in oil.
