Jock report *updated*

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Jock report *updated*

Post by Eli »

Seeing as how the water is still soft, I decided to get a quick fix before x-mas eve.

Went to the mill at manotick to try float fishing for crappy and had no luck. Nothing; not even a bite.
Decided it was time for plan B. Drove to the Jock River near Richmond to see if I could get some walleye. Second cast...bang! Big eye? Nope, just a fat pike :D

Not a monster by anyone's standards, but how neat is to be casting plugs in late december?
A few more casts and it was time to go home.

Maybe I'll be out there again on boxing day, if the weather allows it...

Happy holidays everyone! :D

A few weeks back, when the water levels were really high I saw some guys fishing at night on the Jock off Eagleson in Richmond.

As it was night I figured they were after eyes... have to give it a try I guess.

Any softwater this time of year is sweet! Nice to see you got out and made the most of it Wolfman. Midrange pike beat respooling rods and sharpening hooks any day, for me!

(Personal Q Wolfman....those sideburns? Personal pref or chick magnet? I'M being SERIOUS).

Btw, good Q about eating quality with possible chem. contamination runoff from farm land.

Ah, ok, just curious. Was told just today, although I'm still the "coolest" of the "adult" relatives, I'm clearly outta the loop of modern day cool standards. So I had to ask!

In all seriousness though, great that you got out and actually wet a line given that Jan. is right around the corner. Wish I could also! Good job.

Ah, K-pin you are the coolest adult I know! Hey how come you havnt asked me about my sideburns? Maybe I will let them grow into a nice set of mutton chops and start hiding things in them. Sounds like a plan. Coolest adult relative, I can see that, and hey that was not a wise crack. Speaking of wise cracks, have you ever seen.............................
