New to the site - Hello all

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

New to the site - Hello all

Post by Mak'er a Lak'er »

Hello All,

I am brand new to this board and this is my first post.

Looks like a great site, and the posts I have read have been met with friendly and very helpful advice. Sounds like a great group on here.

I mainly fish around my cottage near Ladysmith, QC, but was hoping to try some ice fishing for specs and bows in the Renfrew area this winter.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on an updated stocking list?

Thanks and I look forward to typing with you all,

I fish in a few of the lakes around there as well as the Pontiac Zec. It is a fishing mecca around there, been there 5+ years and still finding new spots.

The Gatineau runs on the East side of Hwy 105, I am closer to Otter Lake on the other side of Masham.

Talk soon,

Thanks for the MNR number.

I'm hoping to get out on the ice after the holidays and will keep you posted on what's happening up there Joco. Some big Pike taken last year on large Williams and dead minnow combo.

We had 5 inches of ice last week on one of the smaller lakes, but not quality. The nights have been cold enough, but with these warm days I'm not ready to get comfortable out there yet.

Lots of people ice fish at Portage du Fort as well (Ont/Que border near Renfrew), haven't tried there yet, but may this year.

Cheers,

Mak'er

Sounds good, is that the Suishaw dam up there?

I've always wanted to try below the Chenaux dam in a boat...it HAS to be loaded with walleye there I would imagine.

Welcome aboard, Mak'er a Lak'er,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Ladysmith the town right on Lac De Loupes?

If so I could recommend some trout lakes in the area. I have a cottage not far away on Lac Sinclair.

Take care,
Eddie

Welcome aboard and thanks for introducing yourself. We have a great bunch of people here with interesting information and experience. I haven't personally fished that of the woods, but I'm sure someone has here.

cheers and happy holidays.

Hey Eddie,

It's not the little town on Lac des Loups, but 20 min further on the 366 (the hwy that runs through Lac des Loups).

It would be great to learn/share new lakes up around there. Sinclair is near Eardly right?

hi again.....

its not the chenaux dams but bryson dams its on the quebec side...

if you do come frome the ontario and you past on chenaux dam,,,you will arrive at the 148 higheway.just before you arrive at that intersection, about 1/2 km look on your left you will see it in the moutain.

its bryson dam.......
the other dam i work in that area is call rocher fendu dam,,,,,its not a power dam (this one) just a place that control the ater, its at the other end off the calumet island, almost to fort coulonge but on this side off the river on the island,,,,,,,that os where almost all whitewater rafter goes, great wild camping there just fabulous and real sheap in cost...

and for a liitle place to get trout, just up lac des loups des is a plce call,,,,,,,,,association des petit lac........

association off small lake,,,,,,,,,,,,,,there is cople off lake(private) you pay and have access to there lakes........there some boat to rent and some electric motor, great place in the openeing weeks......all kind off trout...

will find the link.

Joco beat me to the spot,
The place I was mentioning is the same as Joco just said, Le Petite Lac...
It's a private group of people who stock 3 or 4 small lakes with trout each year. It is right beside my cottage, on Lac sinclair. If you take the right onto Chemin Fournier after Masham, instead of going straight to Lac de Loupes, you will come to a small general store, "Bernier's Store" Stay left, and you will go around LAc sinclair, then on the left will be a steep road going up into the mountains with signs for petite lac

Joco, do you goto those lakes regularly?
