Sweet New Duds From Vexilar!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sweet New Duds From Vexilar!

Post by JustinHoffman »

Hello All,

Received a great package from Corey at Vexilar this week, containing the new Cold-Snap Parka and Bibs. Great looking gear, with tons of pockets and excellent attention to detail.

Looking forward to giving these a go over the winter months.

Noticed that one of these is up for keeps in the contest section. Congrats to the lucky winner, and for those in the market for a new suit for Christmas (and all the non-winners), be sure to check this one out...I'm sure the retailers will have them in stock.

All dressed up, and nowhere to go..

Hey Joco,

The parka has a 240 gram super warm polar fleece lining. The bibs don't have this lining, so you would have to layer the bottom half of you. Top and bottom are both wind and water resistant nylon.

I fish 99% of my time in the portable hut, so these will work excellent for me.

Good Fishing,

Justin

P.S. always love when Santa shows up early!

I like the idea of being able to shed the top half . I'll be in the shelter 99% of the time as well .

Hey Slushy,

No, it isn't a floatation suit. All of the ice fishing manufacturers that have similar suits (Vexilar, Clam, Strikemaster etc.) are all non-floatation suits. For the $200 price tag, it is a great deal. For first and last ice, going with a floatation suit is probably your best bet - everything in between will see me wearing this though. (I might just wear my life jacket under the jacket, as there's plenty of room..plus, the water i fish is small in nature, and the ice is generally 24 inches thick..)

For those looking for floatation, the bulkiness increases greatly, as does the cost.
It's whatever you feel comfortable in, I guess...

Good Fishing,

Justin
