I was wondering if anyone out there has any information about these two lakes in the GRACEFIELD, Quebec area. I'm not sure if I've spelled "Elja" correctly! Specifically, I was looking for info on the BASS fishing in these two lakes, and also the quality of the launches available. I've heard that Lac Elja is accessed via a private launch that's more than a little rough, I have a map of Cayamant and it looks very easy to access. Any info would be welcomed. Thanks.

Hello

It has been a few years since I dropped a line in Cayamant. We have a shack on the lake and the fishing was quite good for the days we were on the lake. It is pretty good for a few hours of fishing but the lake is pretty shallow and not very big so you could fish it out pretty quickly. We find it great for kids since the fish are easy to catch and around the one pound mark. There are a few deep spots which at one time held trout which were stocked in the lake in years past.

The roads that access the lake from our area are on private land and the launch is OK, but that is not to say there is not a another launch on the lake. The launch we use is right behind a persons cottage and is not marked.

I hope this has been helpful. It may not be completely accurate but what I have indicated I have taken from my experience and information from neighbours. I have not spent much time up there since the cottage is not yet usable and I have had a baby since we bought the place. If I am off base with any information please feel free to let me know. I am always interested in hearing more about the area.

Oh, if you are thinking of buying a place on the lake keep in mind that it is a great location in relation to Lac St Marie and Blue Sea Lake.

Sorry for any typos. I am tired and have to prepare for Badger Shark's bachelor party.

Sorry Guys,

I got Cayamant confused with Metayer. Sorry for the missinformation. I know nothing about Cayamant except it is in the same area.

Sorry for the confusion.
