Heading up to Stirling Lodge next week(aug 12)...

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

*Bumping Up*

unclecrankbait,

The Rideau Lakes area has gotten the heat, just like most everyone else. :? I haven't fished the lakes you mentioned this year, but I've been on Wolfe plenty of times and on the Rideau a time or two. Fishing has been fair for me, with more walleye than usual, but less bass(smallmouth) than usual. I think the fish have gone deeper to get some relief from the warming lake temps.

Maybe someone else can give you some advice on the lakes you mentioned.

If you're leaving for Canada on a Saturday, be prepared for some hefty lines at the border. We find Sunday travel, or late-day wknd travel to be better.

Have a great trip.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

well...just returned from fishing newboro lake...caught some lmb, pike and a few smb...windy this week...slow bite and all fish were on the small side...biggest were a 2.9 lmb and a 2.6 smb (from 30-40ft)...I guess most of these guys are deep now...going to try last week of july and hope for better/bigger results...stirling lodge was great as always...rapala's were the bait of choice(best rattlin rap) with the new dt's(4-6) working well...

Hi Unclecrankbait,

My family is headed back up to the area late August, early Sept. Hopefully, we'll get in some decent action before school schedules make it impossible to get in any quality blocks of time for fishing.

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself, even if you didn't slay 'em.

Any pics?
