Anybody see Fish'n Canada lately...whats with the new host!

I don't know if anybody has talked about this but the boys are changing the show.

I don't know why the top say 2005 season preview...but the bottom says featured in 2006.


A new episode was just on but I didn't watch the whole thing...

there was some new host that their going to have...this Mike Miller guy.

they also made a techno version of the shows song

and they were swearing a lot!!! Saying butt and not bleeping it and other words that they did bleep. I don't get it!!!

and they are doing some other stuff a bit differently, using new maps for "how to get there', some chick doing voice overs for a few things like credits

It was really weird!!!!

Not sure about the swearing.. probably re-vamping their format in an attempt to gather more ratings. Too bad, because the show was one of the best in Canada before.

I agree...the guys are weird but the show is good

They catch good fish and don't always go to lodges to get them and they tell you where they went.

Ya they swore A LOT!! Really! I usually not one to complain about that but its out of place in a fishing show unless you break all your rods of fall in the water.

And the whole show revolved around this beef between Reno (i think thats the oldest ones name) and Mike...really dumb!!

This is still an excellent show .. even with the "new format". Heck, you should hear the stupidity when I fish with my buddies. Its all part of the game.
Sure beats trying to understand those overfocused hillbillies on those other fishing shows.

The sad thing is Extreme Angler is so new, and has such a limited audience, that the main stream will never know who had the idea first.

It's a dog eat dog world...

The idea of the show was that they wanted to mix up the show a bit. They wanted to find another host. Then they "ran" into mike in a parking lot with a camera by chance.

They tried to make the show look like a compition between mike/pete vs angelo/reno to see if mike could be the new host.

The compition was suppost to be that if Mike/pete won then mike could be on the show as a host. pete wanted him to be the host the others didn't.

The beef I was talking about was that mike and reno (I guess they call him boss now!!) were arguing the whole time. Mike showed up late and reno got mad, mike played some video game and reno got mad. Reno also argued the whole show that mike was going to ruin there show! It was really dumb!! It was obviusly fake.

I hope they don't make the show too weird. They were trying to make the show more "real" but the fake compitition was lame.

The next time its on that I see is 12noon Sunday (uhh i think thats atlantic time...so 11am eastern time) ...for me it was on Sportsnet East...which is what all you Ottawa guys should get.

I dont see it on at all on Sportsnet Ontario in the next week

LOL yeah i've seen Extreme angler its an awesome show. They always fish in ontario and teach you how to find bass. Fish'n canada is alright, but comes across to me like an uneducated redneck.

Actually...in the show he kept losing fish and was jealous of the ones pete was catch...he even said "why can't I catch one like that"

I don't think it was a very good first show for him.

To catch fish as big as Pete you have to first be as small as he.

I liked the WWF when I was about 10. Although on a good day I am built like a brick sh!thouse , I always preferred to perceive angling as something I more than less used my brains for, not my brawn.

These I'm sooooo f#$king cool an angler shows where egos are on the lines more than fish and insight... well they suck, and they're for the same 10 year old WWF fans.

Bowman's great though ain't he. Wish he'd do it alone. Most of the shows I find best are one host shows. (with their guest) No "I've got the big dink syndrome" in the boat and for the camera. Classic example... Leo.

i was on the last cull with miller. this guy is something else - extremely entertaining, and the fnc guys recognized and siexed the opportunity when they saw it. as far as the new show - i have not seen it nor its "new" structure. change can be a good thing. just think of who is sponsoring their show - how else do we get the new generation involved? old shool reminds new school of"old balls" aka no fun. i will generate a more solid opinion after viewing the new show. has anyone seen the commercial for the new show? anything wierd about it?
