Hi guys,
Just made a couple tip-ups that seem to work well, using a spring-type door stopper, piece of dowel, and a small piece of 1x3. Works dandy for lakers...haven't tried them on anything else yet. If you're interested, I can give you more details.
P.s. My first posting! Fish-hawk rocks!

I just recently picked some of those deals that turn your regular jigging rod into a tip up! I'm impressed they are very well made and you can adjust the sensitvity!!! When a fish hits it sends up a flag but, I've added a little bell so when the flag goes up the bell sounds also

Here are the plans for tip-ups. Drive to your local baitshop and pay 5 bucks a piece.

BigJon, I had tipups like you made a few years back and I found them great for Pike and Lakers, But for the light bite of a walleye you will have to stretch out the spring . That's what I did and they didn't look as good after. But they worked better. It might be better to find a different size of springs.
Something that I have of my tip ups now is. On the top of them I have a piece of wire stretched from end to end and I have a rubbercore sinker on the wire that I can adjust to be very sensitive or not . But it's a definite PLUS if you fish for wally's.
